World of Disney Park Rankings!

I have finally done it! I have visited all the Disney parks around the world!

Crossing off all 6 Disney parks around the world has been on my bucket list for a little while, and this year for my birthday I was finally able to do it! My boyfriend and I just got back from our vacation in Hong Kong and Japan which was a blast! The main goal for this trip though was to check out my last two parks, Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland! img_5034

Even though I am no Disney expert (pretty close though) I want to share with you my rankings of each park and how they compare to each other in a few different categories! Each park has their own highlights and I love them all for different reasons, but there is one park that will always be number 1 in my heart and the best overall park in my opinion!

The 6 parks around the world are:

Disneyland California (the original)

Disney World Florida

Tokyo Disneyland

Disneyland Paris

Hong Kong Disneyland

Disneyland Shanghai (The newest)

Between all the parks, there are a few things to consider when deciding which park is the best. Everyone loves Disney for different reasons, so here I am going to rate each park on its rides, food, theme, castle, characters, and overall experience! I will give each a rating between ♥—-♥♥♥♥ 1 heart being the lowest score and 5 being the best score and then I will explain a little bit about each park and how I came up with these ratings!

Disneyland Shanghai Pros and Cons-

Pros:

  • This is the cheapest park for a one day ticket
  • The have the Tron Ride which might be my favorite ride out of all the parks
  • Their Pirates of the Caribbean ride is totally unique from the other parks
  • They have the Lion King on Broadway in their. “downtown Disney” area.
  • This park has the largest Disney castle

Cons:

  • This park is small since it is newer so not too many rides
  • No space mountain
  • The food options inside the park aren’t great, however in Disneytown right outside, they are pretty good

Disneyland Hong Kong Pros and Cons-

Pros:

  • This park has AMAZING halloween decorations! I have been to 4 parks total around halloween and they have the best that I have seen! Plus, they have free trick or treating in a garden and a haunted house that is actually pretty scary!
  • They have 2 rides that are completely exclusive to the park and they are incredible! Big Grizzly Mountain and Mystic Manor! Amongst my top 10 favorite rides!
  • The Festival of the Lion King is my second favorite Disney show out of all the parks and should not be missed
  • Not a huge crowd

Cons:

  • They have the smallest castle out of all the parks
  • Limited number of rides
  • Poor food options (the best treat was their ice cream bars)

Disneyland Paris Pros and Cons-

Pros:

  • They have a Ratatouille area that none of the other parks have
  • The Crush Coaster is another ride favorite of mine
  • The Castle has a DRAGON below it!
  • The Castle here is the most unique out o all the castles
  • They were the first park to introduce lower fares on less busy days (since Disneyland California and Disney World Florida have started doing this)
  • The Mickey and the Magician show is by far the best show I have seen out of all the Disney parks! It is half in French and half in English
  • Tons of Character meet and greets

Cons:

  • This Park is CROWDED! Every time I go there are long waits
  • The food here is the worst compared to any other parks and it is probably the park that is expected to have the best food
  • Their Studio park closes much earlier than the Disneyland park, so the open park gets even more crowded than it already was.
  • Their fast passes run out incredibly fast

Disneyland Tokyo Pros and Cons-

Pros:

  • Tokyo DisneySea has the best theme layout out of all the Disney parks hands down! This park barely even looks like a Disney park, but like you are entering into another world!
  • Their little mermaid section is so colorful and amazing even though it is geared towards younger kids
  • Has completely original rides that you won’t find in other parks in their DisneySea area
  • Has great snack options at a decent price! The popcorn is definitely a highlight with different flavors around the park all for about $2.75 a box, which is great for Disneyland prices
  • Has the FRIENDLIEST staff of all! I have so many birthday stickers from the staff and every member said happy birthday to me when they noticed my pin
  • Their Winnie the Pooh ride is exceptional!

Cons-

  • The DisneySea park is unique but the actual Disneyland park mimics the other parks very closely. You won’t find many original rides there
  • Other than the snacking items, the main meal selections were lacking in quality.
  • They really lack in the character greeting department, which is okay with me since I don’t usually want a picture, but I love the parks with a lot of character greets because it keeps the kids occupied and the big ride lines wait times down.

All Things Tokyo Disneyland

Disney World Florida Pros and Cons-

Pros:

  • Epcot is the best thing about the Disney World Park! For those who aren’t able to travel around the world, they do a great job at bringing a little bit of the globe to you! Plus the food options are outstanding!
  • The overall themes in this park are great! The lines seem much longer to me, but the decorations in the line keep guests mesmerized
  • This park is the best for younger kids! Many rides and attractions for little kids and many character greets!
  • I haven’t been to the parks since the opening of Pandora, but I imagine it is an excellent addition to the park!
  • The Seven Dwarfs mine ride is another ride favorite and it is located in Magic Kingdom at this park!

Cons:

  • CROWDED. Again this park is like the Paris park and it is always crowded with long wait times.
  • Too spread out. People say this park is the biggest, which is true, but thats only because the few amount of rides that they do have are completely spread out among different parks. Obviously this was done to make more money since you need multiple days to get around and park hopper passes to enjoy the rides
  • Many attractions aren’t actually rides, so it isn’t the best park for older generations.
  • This park is expensive! About a tie with California, however, like I said, it is a more spread out park which means that you need to spend more days, which means more money

Disneyland California Pros and Cons-

This is definitely my favorite park since I have been to this park the most. I know when to go, how to avoid the crowds, which rides are the best, and it is close to home for me (or used to be at least). Maybe I am just sentimental, but I really believe that this park has the most rides and utilizes fast passes and single rider lines more efficiently than the other parks to keep wait times down.

Pros:

  • CARS LAND! Cars land is the greatest themed area out of all the parks (officially I haven’t seen Pandora yet, so I may stand corrected, but until I can judge that for myself, I will stand by this).
  • This is the original, which means the most to true Disney fans being able to walk where Walt walked and see where he worked!
  • The food! Out of all the parks I believe this park has the best in terms of sweet snacks! Its no Epcot, but overall, for a theme park it has the best items throughout both of its parks! Can anyone say Dole Whip?!
  • The night shows/parades are the best out of all the ones that I have seen so far!

Cons:

  • This park is expensive, especially compared to the parks outside of the United States.
  • The shows aren’t as good here as they are at the other parks.
  • If you don’t know how to work the system, this park can seem too crowded

Pro tips for any Disney Park:

  • Research before you go, see which rides are the most popular so you can knock those out first
  • Show up to the park right when it opens
  • Utilize fastpasses and single rider lines
  • Avoid going near holidays and on weekends
  • Bring items that make you comfortable such as comfy shoes, water bottles, light snacks, possibly a fan etc.
  • Take pictures later in the day! Normal tourist picture spots are crowded at the beginning of the day and you can knock out major rides and come back to picture spots later

I hope this blog helps all my Disney lovers out there when it comes to planning their next trip! Please share your favorite things about each park and tips of your own that you may have!
