30 hours in Canada

So you have a day to spend in Vancouver, eh? This is one of my favorite layovers in the Delta system and I am always keeping my eyes open to get my hands on another one! While I never have a car to venture far, I have been perfectly content with my findings around the city thus far! If you find yourself in the area soon, here are a few things that I would recommend.

1. The Capilano Suspension Bridge

If you are part of the Delta Family then you can walk over and catch a free bus the the suspension bridge park and you only have to pay a small entry fee if you bring your crew id with you! My entire crew went up for a few hours and spent the morning together before we split off into different directions and had the best time!cap2cap3

Note, the views are amazing but this park is incredibly crowded! If you do not like crowds, swaying bridges, or heights, this might not be the Vancouver adventure for you!cap1cap4

2. The Vancouver Aquarium

Another place in walking distance from our hotel, the Vancouver Aquarium is one of my favorite FREE things to do if you are on a layover! I believe normal entry is around $20 but again, if you show your id you get in for free. However, it is kind of expected that you donate a little something then to help out the facility and the animals. Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

I wandered around this aquarium for hours and hours and was captivated by all the beautiful creatures. They all seem so happy, healthy, and protected by the staff, it is truly incredible!

3. Stanley Park

Stanley Park is the most incredible park that I have ever seen. It has small beaches, rows of gardens, and miles of bike paths. When the sun is shining and the weather is nice, there isn’t a more perfect way to spend a day outdoors! I have strolled through this park numerous times and I still find myself missing it! Delta, send my back here please!!!Processed with VSCO with c1 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 preset

There are plenty of other things to do in Vancouver, but these are definitely my top 3 favorites! Next time you go be sure to check out the local shops in the Gastown district, the Harbor, maybe take a flow plane out for the day, and definitely don’t miss out on a Tim Horton’s Coffee!
