Make way for clearer skin!

So, everyone struggles with a breakout every now and again, however, my teen breakout stage skipped me in my high school years and has finally caught up with me! It is such a struggle having acne and working every day on a dirty airplane, but it is even harder when you add in the summer heat! Recently I switched up my skin care routine and although my skin isn’t perfect, it has improved immensely! 4c7757b4-1ff1-4621-91a7-c64dc078fb89

After hearing&reading so many praises about dermalogica, I decided to give it a go and ignore the price-point for once. Luckily for me, I had some points to cash in with my Ulta Rewards and was able to get a majority of this for FREE! I had taken the dermalogica skin survey on their website and bought the products they recommended for my skin type! After weeks of trying these babies out, here are the products I recommend:

1.Clearing Skin Wash ($37): This naturally-foaming cleanser can be purchased in 2 different sizes and uses several ingredients that aid in the prevention of breakouts but its main acne fighting ingredient is Salicylic Acid which clears congested follicles and soothes irritation.

2.Daily Microfoliant ($55): A powerful powder that activates upon contact with water and scrubs away dead skin cells while accelerating skin renewal to smooth skin after breakouts. The best part about this product is that it is gentle enough to use daily and contains licorice and bearberry to help even and brighten your skin tone.

3.Overnight Clearing Gel ($50): Using a vitamin B complex of Niacinamide and Biotin combined with Zinc Gluconate, Yeast Extract, Caffeine and Nordihydroguaiaretic Acid your skin will clear and purify overnight! On top of that, this product uses tea tree oil and rosemary to inhibit bacteria while spiraea ulmaria extract stimulates the skin’s natural anti-bacterial agents.

4. Intensive Moisture Balance ($43): I was in desperate need of some skin hydration after being in an airplane all day, every day, and this moisturizer came through! Jam-packed with vitamins, my skin feels refreshed after every applications!

I know the price tag is high, but there is some good news if you would like to try these products out! Ulta sells a starter kit called the Medibac Kit for $45 and you can sample most of these products and a few others!

In addition to my new skincare line, I have continued to use some old favorites and a couple new ones which I will tag below:

  1. Formula 10.0.6 Face Wipes ($5.99): Before washing my face it helps so much to remove a bulk of my makeup beforehand! Since I breakout, I never rely solely on these wipes but they are quick and easy if you are simply too tired to get up and do your full routine!
  2. Urban Decay Setting Spray ($19): Ulta sells this setting spray travel duo and it is perfect for someone who is always on the go! To be honest I barely use the Quick Fix complexion spray since it leaves my face oily before applying my makeup, but the All Nighter spray has kept my makeup looking fresh and in place for all my long shifts!
  3. Breath Of Fresh Air ($10.95): This soothing sea spray from Lush has worked miracles on my flights! I use it throughout my day to keep my skin hydrated while in the air and also after I wash my face as a toner spray! A friend introduced me to this product and I don’t know how I went 2 years in this job without it! I can’t recommend this product enough!

Obviously everyone’s skin is different and these products might not work for everyone, but they work for me and I couldn’t help but share them with you! If you have any skincare products of your own, please feel free to share them in the comments!
